Salman Khan offers role to wrestler Varinder Singh Ghuman in Gama Pehlwan biopic

Earlier we had reported that Salman Khan will be producing the Gama Pehlwan biopic and now, we get to hear that the superstar has apparently offered a prominent role to popular wrestler Varinder Singh Ghuman in the film. With many sports biopics from Bhaag Milkha Bhaag to Mary Kom tasting success commercially, we hear that this time around, Salman Khan has decided to encourage wrestling through his film.

Varinder Singh Ghuman is the only Indian vegetarian wrestler and will be making a foray into Bollywood with Kamal Sadanand's upcoming film Roar - Tigers of the Sunderbans. Elaborating about his meeting with superstar Salman Khan, Varinder Singh Ghuman revealed that Salman Khan spotted him while he was rehearsing for an action sequence with Allan Amin for his upcoming film Roar - Tigers of the Sunderbans and decided to talk to him about his upcoming film. In fact, Varinder further added that the role that Salman had offered him was for the film Sher Khan which was to be produced by his brother Sohail Khan. However, Sher Khan has been postponed owing to certain issues and hence, knowing Salman Khan's generous nature, the actor decided to offer yet another role to Varinder in the upcoming Gama Pehlwan biopic. Though Varinder remained tightlipped about his character in the film, he mentioned that he will be playing a wrestler in it.
